5 Year Review of the Select Committee Inquiry into the Future of Public Parks

Thank you to all who attended the Parks & Green Spaces All Party Parliamentary Group APPG (Westminster) meeting on the 8th of July, which reviewed progress made since the 2016 Select Committee Inquiry into the Future of Public Parks. If you weren’t able to make it, a highlights video, full recording and minutes are now available on the APPG website, along with the copy of the letter the APPG has sent to Clive Betts MP, Chair of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee.

Keep Britain Tidy’s Chief Executive, Allison Ogden-Newton, who spoke at the meeting alongside Mr Betts MP and key stakeholders from the parks sector, said ““The meeting brought together parks sector representatives and MPs in a passionate discussion about the uncertain future of our parks and greenspaces. We had a fantastic outcome, with Clive Betts MP agreeing to hold a formal review of his committee’s hard hitting inquiry into the future of parks and through that review we hope will draw much-needed attention to the profile of greenspaces on the Westminster agenda.”

Kind regards,

Keep Britain Tidy, Secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Parks and Green Spaces
