London Open Gardens 2025

London Open Gardens 2025 will take place over 7-8 June. The weekend is a celebration of London’s private green spaces and their contribution to urban living. Run by the charity London Parks and Gardens, it showcases managed landscapes, their creation, management and contribution to our lives, and is a key fundraiser for the charity, helping us to continue our work of defending heritage parks and spaces. Read our mission statement to find out more.  We are now looking for volunteers to help make London Open Gardens 2025 happen. All volunteers will receive a free weekend ticket, worth £24 at full price. Highlights from this year’s programme include: 30 Cannon Street, an impressive triangle-shaped roof garden in the City with captivating views of St Paul’s Cathedral, the Square Mile, London and beyond; Moat Community Garden, Millbank, where local people have used the remains of the former prison moat to create a green space for the community; and The Sanctuary Garden at Freedom from Torture, a silver medal winner at the Chelsea Flower Show 2024, now relocated to Finsbury Park where it is being used for horticultural and other therapies for survivors of torture. You can find the list of participating gardens on our website.  As a London Open Gardens volunteer, your main duties will be to welcome visitors, check tickets, ensure that the garden is treated with respect, and generally act as ambassadors for London Open Gardens and the wider work of London Parks and Gardens. The opening hours of the gardens are generally 10am-5pm.  To register your interest, please contact Simon by emailing logvols@londongardenstrust.org. We will start by asking you to let us know your availability over 7-8 June, then in March we will allocate you to a particular garden for one morning or afternoon over the weekend, based on your availability. If you would like to volunteer with a particular friend or relative, you can let us know and we’ll do our best to put you together.
